Capability! is a new family musical comedy which explores what our green spaces have meant to us through the centuries. Taking Brown’s landscapes as its backdrop, the production reveals how one man transformed the country, and constructed nature as we know it.

 

Set amid sumptuous green hills and rolling waterworks, this fun and irreverent spectacle reminds us all to take joy in the landscapes around us, at a time when parks and gardens have become more important than ever.

 

 Inspired by Lancelot Brown’s idea of the ‘capability’ or potential of a landscape, Capability! looks at how we are all capable of shaping the outdoor world. Expect humour, charm and a touch of green-fingered magic, in a witty, musical celebration of the much-loved landscape garden, and the remarkable, horticultural pioneer of the 18th Century.
